PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION BY TRAIN:
We recommend the trains instead of buses.
S1 from Schaufhausen and S29 from Winterthur if you are coming from Zürich.
Walking from the Stein Am Rhein train station is only 3 minutes:
From the train station walk down to the river. Keep walking on the bridge towards the city centre and Hotel Rheinfels with its magestic yellow building will face you by the river. You can’t miss it.

Another option is to park your car at the p+rail parking of the train station of Stein am Rhein. It costs CHF 6.- per day and the ticket can be purchased via the p+rail app of SBB.
ARRIVAL:
Their entrance is easy to find with no complications. There is a small parking lot in front of them across the street for short time parking to pick up or drop someone. When you enter the hotel, on your right you find the stairways to the 1st floor.
We need to finalise your registration at the door at the venue. Please be at the venue at 10 am - no later than 10:30am to allow us to prepare you so we can start the seminars at 11am as planned. We, the team, are always on time while flexible like squids here.
FOOD:
Please keep in mind that meals are not included in the event. We will have free croissants and coffee at 10 am in both mornings for you and some snacks later on during the day. After all you will be in 4 hour long seminars. So the best idea is you eat a strong breakfast before your arrival, have your coffee and final bites with us before the seminar then plan your late lunch / early dinner after the seminars.
If you follow a specific diet please bring it with you. There are also bakeries and a supermarket Volg in a few minutes walking distance.
You can eat your dinner in one of the restaurants in town or get yourself a picnic to eat by the waterfront.
Our favourite places to eat are:
- Uferlos. River front.
- Restaurant Wasserfels. River front.
- Restaurant Ilge. Michelin awarded. In the city centre.
- Burg Hohenklingen. Castle on the hill. 5 min drive, 30 min hike.
DRINKS:
There will be drinking water and coffee for you always available, soft drinks and alcoholic drinks can be purchased with a “drinks card“ offered at the registration desk upon arrival.
SEMINARS:
11:00 - 15:00 on both days. That is 4 hours with a break in the middle. Expect the orchestra joining us for the first 3 hours followed by more artistic work that connects the tango music to visual experiments. We will change partners as well as doing a lot of individual exercises that improve your musical dancing. There is enough hanging space for your jackets and coats outside the dance hall. We shall bring as minimum as possible personal belongings to the seminars. There is a large room next to the dance floor to keep our personal belongings rather than using the dance hall. We will need every square meter of this hall with the orchestra joining us, please be mindful.
PRACTICAS:
Based on the survey we conducted from our last event we decided to let you have a little more freedom. The venue is in your service to continue to practice during the practicas but if you need to go for a bite or take a break this is a good time to do so. For example on Sunday we will be using the practica to also set up the chairs for the mini concert orchestra. So let’s be flexible together during the practicas.
CONCERT:
This concert is designed for our tiny community here in Stein Am Rhein. You are also welcome. Tickets are 30 chf. Those of you who registered for the full weekend program can use their half price discount. Sunday single day registrants can join by purchasing the tickets either on our website or by the door. We have some of our friends bringing their friends and family to this concert. Can we inspire you to do the same? Plus Murat gives a free musicality class for the guests right after the concert. So this can be a good encouragement if you want your friends and family to get a good exposure to tango.
We will also do some dancing during the concert. Perhaps a group dance with you if you like to join the concert. So our new guests can get to see how tango actually looks like in milongas.
MILONGAS:
Saturday’s milonga is part of the “evening program”. Attention to the detail that the evening program starts with a class at 20:00. You have registered to join the evening program as we have not sold a ticket to the milonga without the class on our website. This class intends to form a conscious group feeling where every member acknowledges each other. We work on a few things that provide you a better experience of dancing for the milonga starting afterwards.
20:00 Pre-milonga class. Let’s be on time for this short class.
21:00 on Saturday. Live music of Cuarteto Re!Tango and DJ.
18:00 on Sunday. Live music of Cuarteto Re!Tango and DJ. There is no group class before the milonga.
ACCOMMODATION:
No doubt you have already booked your hotel rooms if you are staying over here. I hear from the reception that there are a few more rooms available. So go grab them while they last. Do you remember Joni? Murat’s mentee who was always around and helping while filming the seminars for us? He has been in Buenos Aires with a one way ticket. He has been madly studying tango. We will miss him. Replacing him in the filming task we have Maëlle (she is 18 yrs old) and Oliver (he is also 18). Please allow them to do their work. They are super sweet and the youngest members of our team. Having said that we once again remind you that the seminars will be filmed with our cameras as usual. And later on you will have a full free access to watch the instructional part of the seminars being our special guests. Let us know if you have any problem with the seminars being recorded. If we do not hear from you we assume you are cool.
